I have little to no experience in circus skills, can I still attend UTS? Absolutely! Many of our workshops are designed for complete beginners, so come along and learn a new skill.
I have opted for a ticket that does not include catering, can I buy food on site? Yes! There will be a café on site selling yummy treats, more details coming soon. There is no EFTPOS on-site so please bring plenty of cash for goodies.
What about cooking facilities? Unfortunately, there are no cooking facilities available to attendees. If you have chosen a non-catered ticket you will need to bring a camping stove or buy food from the on-site café.
Can I bring my child to the festival? Certainly! Children under 14 are free with a paying adult. We do advise parental discretion during the Renegade Show (open stage) on Saturday night as the acts are out of managements control.
What facilities are on site? Brookfield has running water, hot showers, toilets, an on-site café, a pool, and confidence course.
Is there mobile phone reception? Brookfield has no mobile reception so please let people who may try to contact you know prior to the event. In the event of an emergency there is a landline - 04 564 1000.
I don't own circus equipment, will there be some to borrow? Yes, equipment will be provided for workshops and play. Some equipment will be available for purchase on-site. (Cash only)
I don't own fire equipment, can I still participate in fire spinning? Yes. There will be some fire toys available for use during the beginners fire workshop. Some fire toys will also be available for purchase at the event. (Cash only)
Is alcohol allowed on-site? Yes, you may bring your own drinks, but please be mindful of your consumption and take your empties home with you. Illegal substances are not allowed on-site.
I'm staying in a dorm, what bedding do I need? Bring a pillow and sleeping bag/blankets. There are timed heaters in the dorms, but it can get a bit chilly at night so keep that in mind when packing. Mattresses are provided.
Are there quiet dorms available? Yes, please email Emma at [email protected] if you require a quiet dorm. Use QUIET DORM as your subject.
Is there transport to site? Yes, you can take our shuttle bus from Wellington City to Brookfield for $30 (return trip). Departs Wellington City at 4pm Friday (arrives in time for opening ceremony) Departs Brookfield at 5pm Sunday (after closing ceremony) Seats are strictly limited and must be booked in advance. Fill out our booking form to secure your spot.
How can I get a stall at the Under the Spinfluence Market? To sell your wares at the Friday market simply purchase a weekend ticket then contact Eryn, our market coordinator to book your stall at [email protected]. Please use UTS MARKET as the subject. Stalls are free, we simply ask all stall holders for a small donation to include as a prize at the raffle on Saturday evening.
